Full Time Borough Secretary
Mahanoy City is accepting
applications for the position of Full Time Borough Secretary until June 25, 2021. This position provides
administrative support to Borough Council by conducting
and organizing administrative duties and activities, including receiving and handling information.
The Secretary reports
to the Borough Manager.
Position Duties
and Requirements:
Attend all Council meetings
and maintain the minutes
of Council proceedings.
Attest to the execution of all
instruments, including ordinances.
Serve as Open Records Officer
for the Borough
Maintain Borough website
and social media platforms
Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal
Good organizational skills;
detail oriented; takes initiative and able to work independently
Ability to handle multiple tasks,
prioritize effectively
and meet deadlines
Ability to read and interpret
borough/government codes,
ordinances and regulations
and organize facts.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word
and Excel a must
Familiarity with municipal
government a plus
Honesty, reliability, discretion,
and good judgement essential
Salary commensurate with
knowledge and experience.
