The Shenandoah Municipal Sewer Authority has an immediate opening for an Assistant Treatment Plant Operator. The qualified candidate will be required to operate, maintain, and trouble-shoot the wastewater facility and its processes. The work involves responsibility for the technical aspects of plant operations, compliance with state and federal operating regulations, and underground sewer system. Work is performed with considerable independence under the direction of the Lead WWTP Operator, subject to review through reports and results achieved.

Among the required duties, the candidate will perform daily checks of the wastewater treatment process and perform and document various tests required by state and federal agencies. A working knowledge of operations, methods and procedures, as well as knowledge of, and the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical equipment and machinery is also required.
