Applications are being accepted for the position of Police Officer for the City of Shamokin Police Department. Applications can be obtained at Shamokin City Hall, 47 E. Lincoln St., Shamokin, PA, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
The Civil Service Commission will be conducting a Civil Service Examination to prepare a list of candidates for full time positions within the City of Shamokin.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, must be a citizen of the United States of America, must possess a high school or general equivalency diploma, must be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a police officer and possess a valid Pennsylvania Drivers License. All applicants will be subject to an extensive background check, criminal history check and credit check, psychological and physical exam. Applicants with ACT 120 Certification is preferred, but not required.
Properly completed applications, along with a $35.00 non-refundable application fee must be submitted by the deadline. Check or money orders should be made payable to the City of Shamokin. The deadline for applications to be submitted is at 4:00PM on October 18, 2021.
