FULL-TIME POLICE OFFICER
Applications are being accepted for the position of Police Officer in the borough of Mount Carmel. An application form and details in the selection process may be obtained at the Mount Carmel Borough Municipal Building located at 50 West Third Street, Mount Carmel, PA. 17851 between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday or the Mount Carmel Borough Police Department located at 30 West Third Street, Mount Carmel, PA 17851. Applications at the Police Department are available 24 hours a day.
Applicants must be a United States Citizen. A High School diploma or equivalency certificate is required. Must be at least 21 years of age at time of hire. Must reside within a tem (10) mile radius of Mount Carmel Borough within 12 months of successful completion of the probationary period. Must meet Civil Service requirements. Act 120 certification preferred but not mandatory.
Excellent benefits package. Starting salary of $35,000 with various increments under the Police Collective Bargaining Unit Agreement. Paid Vacation, Personal and Sick Time along with other Fringe benefit under the Agreement. Participation in the Uniformed Pension Plan. Starting salary adjustment possible for applicants already Act 120 certified with previous experience.
