The City of Pottsville is seeking a full time Tax Administrator. The ideal candidate will be a motivated, organized individual with superior communication, organizational and computer skills. The Tax Administrator performs technical and administrative duties to ensure compliance with business license regulations. Primary responsibilities include; timely billing, routine correspondence, administering and overseeing business tax
operations; review accounts, perform field inspections of City business establishments to ensure proper licensing and registering; audits and reviews business records, advises businesses on the proper procedures for collecting and remitting taxes, assess and collect all business taxes; coordinates collection actions as appropriate. Develop accurate financial reports, research and advise the City on all aspects of legal and legislative issues, acts as a member of the administrative team, actively participating in a variety of initiatives to improve overall operations and the economic and business environment in Pottsville. Requirements include; Bachelor's Degree in accounting, business administration or a related field, and 3 years of closely related experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
