POSITION:
DOWNTOWN MANAGER
CITY OF SHAMOKIN

Are you passionate about revitalizing communities, supporting local businesses, and fostering a vibrant downtown atmosphere? The City of Shamokin is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Downtown Manager to lead our efforts in revitalizing and enhancing the heart of our city.

Position Overview: As the Downtown Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our downtown area. Your responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities:

*Developing and implementing strategic plans to revitalize the downtown district.

*Collaberating with local businesses, property owners, and community organizations to promote economic growth and community engagement.

*Coordinating events and activities to attract visitors and residents to our downtown area.

*Overseeing downtown improvement projects and advocating for necessary infrastructure enhancements.

*Serving as a liaison between the city government and downtown stakeholders.

*Managing budgets, grants and resources effectively to support downtown initiatives.

Qualifications:

*Bachelor's degree in urban planning, public administration, business management or a related field or equivalent.

*Proven experience in downtown management, urban planning, or community development (preffered).

*Demonstrable experience in routine clerical and accounting responsibilites.

*Demonstrable experience in the office computer software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Quickbooks.

*Prior experience in some applicable administrative capacity such as community and economic development, public administration, marketing/advertising, communications or media relations.

*Strong leadership, communication and project management skills.

*Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

*Passion for community development and a deep commitment to the success of Shamokin.
